The time is drawing ever nearer when these words will be fulfilled ...

And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up,
behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said,
"Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven?
This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven,
will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven."

Yes Jesus is returning ... soon!
... for His Bride ...
Not just for any bride, but for the object of His love ...
... the Church ... the body of Christ ...

just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word,
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church,
not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing,
but that she should be holy and without blemish.
--- Ephesians 5:25-28

And just as the early church was a church of love and unity ...
... so will the church be that Jesus is returning for ...
A Church of Love and Unity!

The church today however is everything but united ...
And from a united body in Jerusalem 2000 years ago ...
... today there are probably 2000 different church denominations ...

The Apostle Paul ... in teaching about unity in the church,
went to great lenghts to explain the differences between people,
and therefore the multi-faceted makeup of the Body of Christ,
... said this to us ...

For as the body is one and has many members,
but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body
--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--
and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
For in fact the body is not one member but many.
If the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body,"
is it therefore not of the body?
And if the ear should say, "Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body,"
is it therefore not of the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing?
If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body
just as He pleased.
And if they were all one member, where would the body be?
But now indeed there are many members, yet one body.
--- 1 Cor. 12:12-20

Jesus does not want us to all be the same ...
... neither does He expect us to all think the same!
If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing?
If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling?
But He expects us to, TOGETHER make up the whole body ...
... in unity ... in Him!

The time has come for the Body of Christ to become united ...
... not in the way we think ... but in the way we act!
... not in the way we believe ... but in the way we love!
... just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her ...
... so Jesus wants us to love each other and give ourselves for Him ...

If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar;
for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen,
how can he love God whom he has not seen?
And this commandment we have from Him:
that he who loves God must love his brother also.
--- 1 John 4:20-21

It is my heart and the heart of Covenant Ministries to be part of a unified Body ...
and to in some way be instrumental in bringing churches, pastors and people together
... in a love relationship with Jesus!
