...on & in the Churches of AFRICA!

Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

...
Hosea 6:3

He will come to us like the rain...!

The rain season may not necessarily be the best time to travel in Africa, particularly when the towns and villages you are going to are off the beaten track and the roads that you have to travel on are not tarred but become slippery mud slides ...

Yet, when God is in control ...
... it cannot be better!
And... no matter the place or the distance the weather or the economic condition,
the building or lack thereof ... in Africa ...
God’s people meet to worship God, to hear from Him and to fellowship together...

... like the latter and the former rain to the earth!

In Kisumu, the first stop on our trip, the sun shone just long enough for us to have a look at Lake Victoria ...

Then ...
it was on to the meeting at the Interfel Praise Centre in Otongolo, Kisumu with Pastor Isaac Kobengo ...
It rained so heavily, that the water ran clear through the church ...
yet that did not stop God from blessing ... or the people from receiving God’s blessing.
(See the cover picture above...)
Neither did it stop a pastor from Uganda, who happened to hear of our meeting, from attending and inviting us to Kampala ...

That evening we spent with James (Nairobi Airport) in his village about 60 km from Kisumu.
Early the next morning the rain still coming down in sheets, we traveled on to Bukura, Musoli Market and Kakamega ...
The Blue Wonder as Pastor Timothy’s car has affectionately become known, did not loose its wheels or exhaust, but ...
the rain got in everywhere,
and we had to stop due to an electrical problem...
Otherwise the Blue Wonder ran smokey, dumpy, wet on the outside and dusty on the inside, but no breakdowns... ...

And ...

if there is a road, we'll go!

We started Sunday morning with a powerful meeting in a newly planted church in Shibwe with Pastor Caleb, who together with his already 40 strong congregation, want to further increase the impacting on their community through the Covenant Disciples Bible Courses.

The roads now starting to dry out and more driveable, made the trip to Butere for our second meeting that morning, much easier than expected.

In Butere, Pastor Richard Makonga Amere and a group of about 30 pastors and their wives were awaiting our arrival with much anticipation ...

Although we arrived late, due to the bad roads, it did not stop us from having a great time of worship, and of ministry of the Word...

Afterwards I introduced the Course to the pastors before departing for Kitale and the graduation ceremony.

Graduation Ceremony in Kitale 20.5.2003...

After the graduation ceremony in Kitale we headed for Eldoret and the World Mission Gospel Centre to where Rev. Isaack Ochola had invited pastors from Eldoret and surrounding area, to an introductory meeting of the Covenant Disciple Bible Courses. ...

From Eldoret we made our way past Nakuru and Nyahururu situated in the picturesque great Rift Valley of Kenya, and onwards towards Mount Kenya and the coffee plantations of Nyeri.

Early the following morning we traveled to Mweiga with its beautiful view of Mount Kenya... for a final meeting with about 20 pastors from Nyeri and the surrounding area.

A most successful and fruitful trip...
We ministered in 9 towns and villages and equipped over 120 pastors...and received as many invitations and more for our next trip ...

MISSION ... Report Back.

Covenant Ministries Bicycle Ministry ...

As promised, a picture of one of our 2 “Bicycle” pastors who are operating in the mountain villages around Kitale.

Although the "Bicycle Ministry" is only just over a month old ... we already have 2 pastors operating in Kitale district, with another 4 pastors, from amongst those who graduated from the Covenant Disciples Bible Course, who have asked to join the Covenant Ministries Bicycle Ministry.

Thank you for your prayer and financial support
Remember, it’s those prayers and continued support that make it possible for us to reach the pastors & people, to touch and change their lives … forever !
and to date we have already more than doubled this figure ...
... with over 200 Pastors linked into the ...
Covenant Disciples Bible Course

So ... we have reset our sights ...
... to more than double the new figure, to at least 500 before the end of this year ...

Thank you once again ...
... to all of you who are supporting us and standing with us ...
It truly is GOOD soil that we are sowing into ...
... and I believe for an ever increasing harvest!
Halleluja

Contributions...

Pastors are constantly signing up and many have already completed the Foundation Courses ...
But ... many thousands more are still to be reached ...
And ...
To be able to reach all those pastors (and their churches) in the towns and villages of Africa ...
... we not only need Bibles, Bible Courses, material and opportunity to go there ...
... we also need equipment and facilities ...

We have a number of pastors ...
... in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana and Zimbabwe ...
... who are going out into remote villages and mountain areas ...
... where there is little or no transport or other public facilities of any kind ...
And although they are given food and a place to sleep ...
They urgently need help with transport, basic equipment and facilities ...
and ofcourse teaching material and Bibles to distribute.

We would like to increase our support to them in their ministry ...

Would you like to help us provide and support them?

And my God shall supply all your need
... according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:19

So, Bishop Ndawona invited me to Zimbabwe ...
That ... will make a difference!

Covenant Ministries & Alpha Omega Online

Our mission at Covenant Ministries is ...
... to lead both Christians and sinners into a personal,
love relationship in Covenant with God and their fellow man (
1 John 4:20)
Our mission field ...
John 4:35-38, Matt 28:18-20 ...
... the Body of Christ, our neighbourhood and the World!
Standing in the middle of Israel, Jesus said ...
... Look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest ...
... Go therefore and make disciples ... teaching them to observe ...

In accomplishing our mission, we provide ...
... Free ... Online Bible Courses, Devotionals and Studies, Teachings and Resources,
to touch and build the lives of people all over the world
and to bring them into a love relationship with God and their fellowmen.
... Bible Courses and Teaching material to Pastors and leaders in underprivileged areas all over the world,
such as Africa, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South America, Jamaica, Eastern Europe ... etc.
to equip them to touch the lives of the people in their own areas.

To (fully) accomplish our mission we need ...
... Your help and support in prayer and in finances ...
For the ministry to grow and fulfill its mission, more time, effort and resources are required,
