When one talks about Africa ...

... people tend to picture wild animals, jungles, mud huts ...

... and actually ...
that picture of Africa is not really that wrong ...

Because ...
... although Africa has big cities and is developing commercially,
... much of it is still underdeveloped or not developed at all.

Though Africa is not limited in natural resources ...
... it is limited in developed resources!
Though Africa is not limited in manpower ...
... it is limited in skilled manpower!
Though Africa is not limited in potential ...
... it is limited in training and education centres!...

For all these reasons ...
I travel to Africa to teach, train, minister and support ...
... to help open their eyes to the potential that God has put in them ...
... to show them the potential in the place where God put them ...

and therefore ...
Covenant Ministries is active all over Africa ...

... to support and help the individual to release that potential ...
... so that they can benefit from their continent's resources!

As limited and often primitive as the facilities in Africa are ...
As big and unlimited is its heart and the heart of its people.

Toilets are normally a hole in the ground you would rather not use.
Bathrooms are often a hole in the floor you wonder how to use.
Roads are normally a hole in the tar you had better not use.

Yet ...
what Africa lacks in finances and what Africa lacks in facilities ...
... It more than makes up for in Heart.

Wherever you go ...
... Your bags are carried for you.
Wherever you stop ...
... food is set before you.
You are served first, in abundance.
... they eat what is left.
If you stay overnight ...
... the best room is prepared for you.
... the best bed is prepared for you.

What the people have ...
... may not be very expensive ...
... may not be very new ...
... may even be chipped or cracked ...
But what they do have ...
... they share with you ...

A giving heart ... a heart God wants to bless ...

A heart that we at Covenant Ministries want to turn to God ...
... by opening God's Word and His principles to them ...
... removing doubt, disbelief, tradition and fear ...
Showing them God's heart,
God's grace and ability in them ...
... so that they can see their potential and position ...
... so that they can receive,
act upon and step out on God's Word ...
... to the place where God can meet them and bless them!

bringing to 11 the number of stations/villages in the Rift Valley.

... who ministers in Endebbes and Mois Bridge.

The growth and success of the Bicycle Ministry ...
... in the Rift Valley in Kenya ...
... has not only been beyond our expectations ...
... but so also has been the interest from other areas ...
... in Kenya and elsewhere in Africa.

Having read about the Bicycle Ministry in Kenya,
... in our previous newsletters and magazines,
Covenant Ministries Zimbabwe,
have asked us to introduce the ministry there as well.

Praise God, Bicycles for Africa is truly becoming ...
... Bicycles for AFRICA Ministries ...

On my recent trip to Kenya, we had Pastor Hurun Shikuku,
one of our first graduates and "Bicycles for Africa" pastors,
travel with us through Western Kenya.

On the Sunday morning he ministered during the first session,
... and I was blessed not only by his teaching,
but also to experience the fruits of the Bible Course firsthand.

On the 18th of August I officiated at a graduation ceremony
at the Covenant Ministries Bible Training Centre in Lugulu in Central Kenya.
Wanting to assess the real effectiveness of the Bible Courses in the rural areas,
I asked some of the students to tell me what they had learnt ...
... and if the course had affected or changed their lives in any way.

Most of the students spoke about the change and development in their relationship with God as well as a clearer understanding of His principles and how to appropriate His promises.
However the testimony that blessed me most was from a student who said that the course had shown her the potential that God has placed in her, a potential through which God will bless us and turn our lives around...
Praise God ... His Word really works!

Remember, it’s those prayers and continued support that make it possible for us to reach the pastors & people, to touch and change their lives … forever !
It truly is GOOD soil that we are sowing into ...
... and I believe for an ever increasing harvest!

Pastors are constantly signing up and many have already completed the Foundation Courses ...
But ... many thousands more still need to be reached ...
And ...
To be able to reach all those pastors (and their churches) in the towns and villages of Africa ...
... we not only need Bibles, Bible Courses, material and opportunity to go there ...
... we also need equipment and facilities ...

We have a number of pastors ...
... in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana and Zimbabwe ...
... who are going out into remote villages and mountain areas ...
... where there is little or no transport or other public facilities of any kind ...
And although they are given food and a place to sleep ...
They urgently need help with transport, basic equipment and facilities ...
and ofcourse teaching material and Bibles to distribute.

We would like to increase our support to them in their ministry ...

... Free ... Online Bible Courses, Devotionals and Studies, Teachings and Resources,
to touch and build the lives of people all over the world
and to bring them into a love relationship with God and their fellowmen.
... Bible Courses and Teaching material to Pastors and leaders in underprivileged areas all over the world,
such as Africa, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, South America, Jamaica, Eastern Europe ... etc.
to equip them to touch the lives of the people in their own areas.

To (fully) accomplish our mission we need ...
... Your help and support in prayer and in finances ...
For the ministry to grow and fulfill its mission, more time, effort and resources are required,
which in turn necessitates more support and more finances.
