We all want to be successful,
... and that is certainly neither a crime nor sin.
In fact it is something God put in us,
... as King David so graphically describes for us ...

What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made him a little lower than God (Elohim)
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
You have made him to have dominion
over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,

And God wants us to be successful,
and to achieve those things that are in our hearts!
But,
How do we achieve that in our everyday lives?

LOVE ... relationship!

If you ask a politician, he'll tell you ... power is what you must have!
If you ask a businessman, he'll tell you ... money is what you need!
If you ask a militarist, he'll tell you ... control is what you need!
therefore, if you ask the world, they will tell you,
... control, money and power is what you need to succeed!

But if you ask God, He will tell you ...

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world
to put to shame the wise,
and God has chosen the weak things of the world
to put to shame the things which are mighty;

--- 1 Cor. 1:27-28

... what you  need is LOVE!
God says ... it is not by might nor by power but by My Spirit ...
It is about using what God put in us ... His character!

He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

RELATIONSHIP ... GOD'S WAY

Praise the Lord.
(a testimony)

I want to begin by appreciating what the Lord
is doing in my life since I started having a relationship with Covenant Ministries and
being introduced to the Covenant Disciples
Bible Courses.

First and foremost, as a trained professional teacher I used to think that I had received all I needed to be an effective teacher at the University.
Yet, from the first day I sat under Pastor Jan's ministry I got challenged
in my profession and how I had been trained, by the way he presented
and expressed himself with a simplicity and clarity,
seeking to be understood by his students.

Thanks be to the Lord because I learnt from him the skill of simplicity
and clarity in training and communication and thus as a teacher
my teaching skills have greatly improved.

Pastor Jan's simplicity,
practical and visual
examples
brought the complex issues in the Bible
out in a manner that is so simple
that has made the Bible alive
and interesting to study.

Practical & Applicable...!

Secondly,
the Covenant Disciples Bible Courses themselves are so
practical and applicable, measurable and very achievable.

The lessons are presented in a way that is easy to apply in life,
to see whether it works in your life or not,
and thus one can easily assess your progress.
It is indeed very practical, very real and very much
achievable in all spheres of life.

Thirdly, this practicality yet powerful application is also
achievable in school and can transform the life of students.
There had been a misconception in our thinking
and thus also in schools,
that when one just spends time in prayer with the Lord,
expecting Him to do His part,
that we will excell in our studies or work.
But thats not God's way.

Achievement...!

In fact the High School Administration limited
the Christian Union activity to an one hour service
because of their poor academic achievements.

But since the introduction of the Covenant Disciples
Bible Course in our school,
the born again students who have given themselves
totally to the course have seen great improvement
in their academic results.
They're not only praying and serving the Lord,
but are also working hard,
and God is indeed increasing the work of their hands.

The Christian Union students are now "natural"
and the change and academic improvement
has been noticed by the school administration,
and the situation has much improved.
Therefore the High School Christian Union
will soon be visiting and getting involved in the
Covenant Home project without any difficulty
because of their academic achievements.

Praise God,
things are now OK with the school administration.

Establishing Relationships...!

  Finally,
the Covenant Disciple Bible Course also helps
in establishing relationships.
My relationship with the students has greatly
improved making my work easier.
So also my relationship to pastors is so much simplier
and now I dont really think of what to say when I meet them.
I am natural, no longer spiritual as before.

And so also even in my marriage our relationship
is much changed and instead my praying
and fasting for every little issues in the home,
I usually sit down, think for myself,
and ask God what to do to avoid problems
and encourage peace and harmony.

Thanks you papa for hearing from the Lord
and doing what the Lord commands you to do.
God bless you.

Nancy Naliaka Wanjala. (Mrs Edward Khaoya).

LUBUMBASHI ... Praise

Together with Pastor Moise (see Are you His people)
I travelled to Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo
on invitation of Pastor Jerry Kanonge of P.H.Ministries.

                                                                   PH Ministries Lubumbashi

Other than ministering in a number of places in Lubumbashi

we also travelled over 300 km to the north to Kambove
to minister to the local pastors in that district, and to
also introduce the Covenant Disciples Bible Courses there.

                                             Kambove, Democratic Republic of Congo

Three Covenant Ministries Bible Training Centres have since
been established in the Lubumbashi area, of which
the first started classes on the 13th of June with 46 trainees,
and the other two are also starting soon,
with more envisaged in other areas of Katanga Province, D.R.Congo.

Continued above...

In June, having met Pastor Nelson Wesamoyo some 2 years ago,
during April 2003 in Kenya and having ministered
in his church in Mbale Uganda,
after which it seemed that nothing was happening,
he again invited
Pastor Dawson and Pastor Edward and myself
to
Mbale, Nabumali and Matufu in Eastern Uganda,

to introduce the Covenant Disciples Bible Courses there

having arranged a number of meetings with
the local pastor groups and pastors fellowships.

After this very successful trip to Uganda,
arrangements have since been finalised for Pastor Dawson
to return in the next few weeks to establish
Covenant Ministries Bible Training Centres in those areas
and to personally present the first classes.
.
Praise God..!
