We have seen how special God created man, ... how special He created us! Created in His Image and likeness, God ... ... expressing Himself in man, … expressing His character, ... expressing His attributes, ... in us! Man … on earth in the God class! … equipped, ... enabled and ... empowered by God! |
|
|
|
Let’s go back to the beginning. |
|---|
But
what is it that God put in man, His
Person … His character, His
attributes!
Quite simply … God
has chosen the foolish things of the world What
are these foolish and weak things? And
we have known and believed LOVE …
… the very thing that God Himself is!
But how was God going to express this through man? Again,
Genesis holds the secret to God’s plan for creation, Then
God blessed them ... We have seen that the fullness of that blessing, that God bestowed on man, is ... the empowerment or capacity to live a full rich life and ... the ability to get all your own needs met, and more! Therefore … the purpose of man’s life is not himself, … as our every need has been provided for! But to be a vessel through which God can express Himself, ... to others! Do you know what the first thing is that God said to man? And have you ever wondered why God said that?
|
What does … to be fruitful … really mean? No, it is not about having children, or about filling the earth with people! It is much more than that. Knowing that it is the very first thing that God had said to man, it must surely be both extremely important, and also the key to what man’s life is all about. Considering how often Jesus used examples out of nature to explain God’s character to us … There is obviously a real connection there, ... and rightly so … as all of creation is an expression of God Himself! That being so in the case of Genesis 28 as well, ... what does being fruitful therefore really mean? Well, quite obviously being fruitful simply means ... to bear fruit! And what is it that naturally bears fruit? … a fruit tree! Like the example Jesus also used, talking about our lives … Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. --- Matt. 7:17-20 If we will be known by our fruits … then we had better find out what that means! Fruit is basically an expression on the outside … … of what is on the inside. And seeing that we know what is on the inside of us, God’s image ... God’s character What then is supposed to be on the outside? What is it that we are supposed to be expressing? Exactly that ... God’s image & God’s character!
Why does a fruit tree bear fruit? Imagine a fruit tree, bearing wonderful fruit! For whom does a tree bear fruit? For itself? ...No! It is bearing its fruit for others, for those around it! Consider this ... Have you seen a fruit tree eating its own fruit? No! … a fruit tree does not eat its own fruit, a fruit tree bears fruit for others to eat! And furthermore, a tree that bears much good fruit … … is a tree that is being FRUITFUL! What does this have to do with us and with God? Everything… The tree is an example of what we should be doing, … expressing what is inside of us, to others! God’s character & God’s attributes! LOVE…! But why the example of a tree? ... because it is a perfect example of God's character! If you kick the tree, can you still take a fruit? … yes! If you insult the tree, can you still take a fruit? … yes! If you break off a branch, can you still take a fruit? … yes! No matter what you do … the tree keeps giving! You see, the tree draws from the inside, giving from what is inside of it, and not what is on the outside. The way that God gives ... John 3:16 and the way that Jesus gives ... 1 John 3:16 without any conditions, obligations or expectations! Simply giving Himself, all that He is … to man! In the same way, we must draw from what is in us … God’s character, God’s attributes ... God’s love!

Since
coming to a relationship with this
ministry
I have learned about love and how to live in Covenant. Through this love that I have learnt, there arose a desire in me to also love other people by being a strength where they are weak. The result was that I began to see people differently, for I had learnt that despite all that they may be going through, there is still hope for them. I began visiting the hurt, especially the young unmarried girls who gotten pregnant, and most of whom are also mistreated by their families and rejected by society, and have therefore given up on life, thinking that is the end of the road. Knowing about love and the principles I have learnt in Covenant Ministries of how someone’s life can turn around, I began ministering to these girls, showing them the way of love and how to turn their lives around.. |
My
vision as part of Covenant Ministries,
is to continue to minister to such people, to take what I have learned, and to teach that to others! ![]() I want others to see the change in my life and help them receive the same in their lives. Janet Wakesa. |
