In Covenant  ... IN FAITH ...  in 2008!

God is a God of Faith - and He wants to honor our faith,
but we have to give Him something to work with!

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
--- James 2:26

God is a Covenant God - who will honor His covenant with us,
As we continue to celebrate God's love that opened the way  for the promised new &
better Covenant (Heb.7:22) in Jesus,  we look forward to the full manifestation of that covenant,
not just in our own lives, but throughout the Body of Christ, bearing fruit in this world,
... fruit that express the reality and the fullness of Jesus in our lives!

Jesus in teaching us on being fruitful, made a statement that is not often linked with faith,
but is probably the one statement that most graphically describes the reality of faith ...

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you,
you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.
--- John 15:7

Faith, Jesus said, is not about what we want, but about what God wants and has promised to do!
Faith is about the reality of where we are actually living - ( If you abide in Me,)
Faith is about the reality of what we express - (and My words abide in you,)
Then - ( you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.)

But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
--- Heb. 11:6

How alive is Jesus in your life?
Not just for our own benefit, but blessed in Him so that this world can be blessed through us!
Blessed in the way God planned for it to happen ... through the fruit we bear!

By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.
--- John 15:8

Fruit that Glorifies the Father!


WHAT FRUIT ARE YOU BEARING?

Jesus tells us in John Ch. 15 that He is the vine,
however the reality of bearing fruit is in fact,
that it is not the vine that bears the fruit,
but it is the branch that bears fruit!

Therefore ...
... what is important is whether we are the branches
through which He can bear fruit?

Fruit that is an expression of this New Covenant,
... fruit that is an expression of where we live!
... fruit that is the evidence of whose we are!
... fruit that is the result of what we do!
THE FRUITS OF FAITH!

God is a faith God, who even tells us that a vital part
of our lives and relationship with Him is
that we also live by faith (Heb. 10:38)

Nothing happens on its own, and in the same way
as God, by faith, made things that are seen
from what is not seen (Heb. 11:3)

So also we should be doing the same ... by faith bear fruit,
... fruit that glorifies God because He is seen in our fruit!

How will this fruit express the fullness of God's Covenant in our lives?
... by the measure of faith in which we live!

NEW YEAR'S ***  2008  *** GOAL SETTING!

New Year's resolutions sound good, lose a bad habit or develop some new good sounding habit ...
but these resolutions are like mill stones or laws that only serve to weigh one down,
... are very seldom achieved and most of the time soon forgotten.

The number "8" so I'm told anyway, represents "New Beginnings"

Rightly or wrongly, I believe there is an anticipation of something new in the air,
... something fresh and new in Him, in the Body, in our lives!
and that for me, is what New Year's "resolutions" should be about,
... Goal Setting or A New Beginning!

Be Fruitful ... Love your neighbour!
Develop a Love Relationship with God!
Profit from Life ... Jesus gave His life for that!
Don't develop habits (they're not from the heart anyway!)

Jesus made this statement, a statement we need to heed in every area of our lives!

Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven,
and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
--- Matt. 18:18

What are you doing (or intend to do) that will positively impact your life in 2008?
What are you doing that God can bind, that God can loose, that God can bless, that God can increase?
God does not change ... but your life can!

GOD'S PRINCIPLES to life!

COVENANT KIDS CENTRES   - & -   COMMUNITY PROJECTS



We were privileged to have had the opportunity to begin a
Street Kids Project near the capital city in Sierra Leone.

Together with Pastor Christian Cole, who is responsible for
the Covenant Disciples Bible Training Centre Sierra Leone,
we started a Street Kids project amongst  the homeless &
abandoned War Camp orphans in and around Freetown.
War Camp kids in the Freetown district SL.

Our first concern, after taking care of their basic physical needs of food
and clothing, is of course to get them into school, and at the same time
to take care of their social and spiritual and psychological needs ...

The need is great, here possibly more than in many other places,
and it will also take much in resources, but a start has been made
and we are excitedly looking forward to much growth and success.
