Although the Bible instructs us to get closer
to God,
… and to get to know Him and His ways,
yet when we read the parables Jesus told in Matthew and Luke,
… it seems that for Jesus to know us is even more important…
Then the
kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins
who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
... But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and
slept.
... And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came,
and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding;
and the door was shut.
"Afterward the other virgins came also, saying,
'Lord, Lord, open to us!'
But he answered and said,
'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not
know you..
--- Matt. 25:1-12
There is no reason not to believe that everyone mentioned in this parable was known to the Lord. Everyone was invited to the feast, … they were surely all known by name, their home addresses etc. were obviously also known. Everyone was expected! And that is exactly what God’s heart and God’s plan is, … that everyone should enter His kingdom. |
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. --- 2 Pet. 3:9 And as we know from scripture, God does not change! (Mal. 3:6) Yet, in the end, not everyone was let in … Why not? |
