There are many principles and commands in the Bible, However … What is the real goal of Christianity? Is it ... Getting people saved? Ministering to others? Getting to know God? Yes there are many principles and even instructions from Jesus Himself, and of course we need to obey God's Word and His instruction. But, ... what should the goal of our lives as Christians be? In considering that question, Paul made this statement … Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. --- 1 Cor. 11:1 Great advice to follow … Yet ... what is it that Paul did, that Jesus did? Well that is easily answered from the Bible … how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power,who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. --- Acts 10:38 What we need to know however, is … how did Jesus go about doing the things He did? One only needs to look at the world and its economic woes, … and at the world’s political turmoil and upheaval, To know that the world needs, … and actually wants, change! So why is it that change seems so difficult? Are we afraid of change? Are we not ready for change? Are we waiting or wanting others to change? Actually it is all of those … We are afraid because it may cost us something, … and we feel secure with what we have! We want things to change, … but we expect others (government etc.) to arrange or to do it! In reality though, those are all just excuses! Sure we may be afraid of change, … and feel secure with what we have and are used to. But … What is hindering us? About what is probably the most important choice or decision we need to make in our lives, God made this statement, … saying to us, I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, --- Deut. 30:19 Read ... Change... are you ready ... here! |
