The biggest stumbling block for most Christians, is the LAW! Most believe that they need to obey God’s laws … … and the 10 commandments are a must! Why? And is that God’s plan and purpose? What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. --- Gal 3:19 We understand that the law was given because of sin, however, why did God only institute the law through Moses, … when sin already came through Adam? What about the time between Adam and Moses? Romans 8 sheds some light on the question of God’s intention, in creating man and His plan for man. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. --- Rom 8:31-32 Why was the Law necessary, since we were predestined to conform to the image of Jesus from the beginning? Man rejected God's plan through his actions … Disobedience … Going against God’s word! which lead to self-serving, separation and fear. Fear … Stepping away from God’s presence! which lead to self-preservation and rejection. Rejection … Refusing God’s involvement and rule! which lead to the need for the Law. This caused God to institute a covenant of rules or laws, … setting conditions under which man had to live, … setting boundaries in which man could operate! But praise God … He does not change, and although man had rejected God, God did not reject man! For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more." --- Heb. 8:10-12 So what did this New Covenant bring or offer? What made this New Covenant different to the others? Read ... Justified by Grace ... here! |

...Day 4 ... Saturday morning around 6am, after an early breakfast, we left Kigali in Rwanda for Kampala, Uganda. Due to the road conditions such as they are and the numerous villages to pass through, it took us around 11 hours for the approx. 600km drive. ![]() Sunday in the early afternoon, right after the morning church services, Pastor Daniel had arranged a meeting in Kampala with a group of pastors and church leaders. ![]() Monday we had 2 meetings scheduled in Uganda on our way from Kampala to Kitale in Kenya, one of which was a graduation at Bugembe, a village situated close to the source of the river Nile. The next
3 days we held pastors meetings in Western Kenya and the Rift Valley, a
