Search Types
Most times you will find what you are looking for quickly and easily using the default search type: AllWords. However sometimes you may need to refine your search more or perhaps widen your search criteria.
Our Search Service offers you the following search types:
| All Words |
The default search type, resulting Web pages will contain all the words (or sub-words) you entered in either the Title or the Description. |
| Any Word |
This provides the widest possible search criteria and should only be used as a last resort. Resulting Web pages will contain any one of the words (or sub-words) you entered. |
| Boolean |
Boolean expressions are used to describe exactly what you are searching for. Normally, boolean expressions use the terms and and or but parenthesis can also be used to group things together. More on Boolean Expressions |

Searching Tips
In general, the more information (and particularly related information) you provide the
Search Service with, the better your results will be. Here are a few tips:
1. Use two or more search terms: The more terms you use, the better the results will
match what you're really looking for. As an example, searching for "Bible" will return
many unrelated Web sites if you're searching for sites dedicated to the King James version of the Bible,
rather search for "King James Bible". To narrow your search down more, you could search for an
online version of the King James Bible using something line: "Online King James Bible".
2. Use unique words: If you would like to search for something like music to play
on your guitar at home, make sure you select the "Music" category and choose words which are
unique to what you're looking for e.g. "guitar tablature".
3. Search for Phrases: Searching for a particular phrase is one of the most accurate ways
to search if your looking for something like an article on "The wages of sin is death" then use the "Phrase"
search type and you should get better results.
4. Use Boolean Expressions: Boolean expressions are used to describe exactly what you are searching for.
Normally, boolean expressions use the terms and and or but parenthesis can also be used to group things together.
Here are some examples of boolean expressions:
- food and cheap
- food or cheap
- (food or snack) and cheap
